kirpal is a london-based, transdisciplinary design engineer.

her work focuses on providing sanctuary in its many forms for all-kind.

while her academic achievements span the fields of product design, engineering, computer programming and neuroscientific applications,

kirpal emphasises the value of her lived experiences with trauma and her Sikh faith-based spiritual upbringing, in her ambitions to integrate compassion into the core of her creations .

compassion

an exploration

compassion is often considered our response, care or concern to the suffering of another being.

IF YOU ARE FREE,

YOU NEED TO FREE SOMEBODY ELSE.

IF YOU HAVE SOME POWER,

THEN YOUR JOB IS TO EMPOWER SOMEBODY ELSE.

our story

the KINDER DESIGNS concept was conceived in times of immense suffering, as a beacon of hope, refuge and strength.

it became an inevitable solution to a cruel world; a sanctuary blessed with faith.

our story begins with a 4 year old who one night dreamt of the drought that plagues the world.

devastated, she enlisted the help of her paternal grandmother to fill buckets of water while they wait for a helicopter to take them to the crisis location... realistically an impractical task, she was nonetheless compelled to do something.

fast forward 14 years, our now 18 year old, still determined, is about to embark on a journey of independence, leaving behind the dysfunction of her family's latest public scandal. she moves to university, feeling ready to equip herself  with the knowledge and skills needed to serve the world.

university [TW]:

family breaks down due to father's infidelity, mother is suicidal and neglecting, father attempts suicide multiple times and self harms, extreme familial pressure to fix the family, father changes faith, learns of father's childhood trauma, starts to experience a decline in mental wellbeing, friend attempts to commit suicide, entrusts a course peer with emotional vulnerability to seek help and is raped. staff and lecturers initially refuse to help. pregnancy. miscarriage.

best friend diagnosed with cancer. loses best friend to cancer. begins medication. begins to self medicate.

mentally unrecognisable, physically unrecognisable... she moves back to her broken home with (barely) an engineering degree in one hand and the baggage of a broken person in the other.

piecing herself back together, her life back together and her ambitions, now at 27 years old, she has founded these organisations to fulfil the service she first set out to; providing a solution where cruelty has overpowered kindness.

using her life experience and pain, she wants to build the sanctuary she once cried out for;

a place to seek refuge and heal when the world has shown us the unkind,

so we can learn to be kinder and not lose our divine essence.

we hope our efforts can contribute to a more compassionate world. thank you for hearing our story.

our warmest regards, the KINDER DESIGNS group
